Kongur chalet

"Postova skala" by Dido

The chalet is a former border police outpost. Offers foods and drinks.

There is a trail leading to the highest peak in the area - the Kongur, from where you have a view over the border. In the past, this was the very border between the socialist and the capitalist worlds. There is plenty of rusty barbed wire and abandoned bunkers in the border zone.


Getting there :
Sofia → Petrich → 2 h walking or 8 km hitchhiking → Belasitsa chalet → 2.5 h walking → Kongur Chalet
